Well, we weren’t expecting this. Chief Innovation Officer at HTC, Horace Luke, has left the company. We first Horace many years ago when he worked for Microsoft and we were bowled over by his ideas for Windows Mobile. He moved to HTC in 2006 and has worked on their colossal range of handsets. We really can’t understate his input on HTC phones. He once told us..
Design is key, it is why you love or hate something.
Horace is said to be leaving due to personal reasons. According to BGR he actually left the company some months ago, on April 30th. HTC stated…
We are grateful for Horace’s many contributions to HTC and wish him well in his future endeavors. Scott Croyle, HTC’s vice president of design, has taken over Horace’s responsibilities and will continue a tradition of design innovation at HTC.
HTC told us..
Horace Luke, HTC’s chief innovation officer, has left HTC for personal reasons. Horace nurtured a culture of innovation at HTC and instilled a strong consumer design-focus among our employees who continue to raise the bar in designing products that capture our customers’ imagination. We are grateful for Horace’s many contributions to HTC and wish him well in his future endeavors. Scott Croyle, HTC’s vice president of design, has taken over Horace’s responsibilities and will continue a tradition of design innovation at HTC

If his key comment was ‘Design is the key’, I am not surprised at all why he has left HTC, they produce the dullest range of handsets.
