The Pirate Bay - Is this Napster all over again?

OK, I blogged about this earlier today and I feel it deserves another post. Today "The Pirate Bay" - a well known Torrent site with links to copyrighted material like movies, CD's and software - got bought out for quite a bit of cash. Many of the users of the website have quite rightly claimed that the owners have "sold out" after receiving $7.7 million from a company called "Global Gaming Factory".
The Pirate Bay guys aren't saying much, other than they're "upset" at how users of the website have reacted to the sale. It seems that the users - those who have downloaded and shared software and DVD's illegally - are upset that the Pirate Bay boys (those who aren't in jail) have received a stack of money for it.
Global Gaming Factory plan to turn the site into a legit operation, and that got me thinking - this is just Napster all over again. An illegal site, peddling illegal stuff, which then gets bought out and the re-launched as a legit site which you can use legally. The name is the selling point - everyone knows about The Pirate Bay - that's what the $7.7 million is for.
So..
What will those Pirate Bay boys do with $7.7 million?
Well, whilst their followers accuse them of "selling out" and running with the cash, I'm thinking that they'll return with a newer system, one which is harder to shut down and monitor.
