“Connected” PDA’s will continue to soar above Smartphone devices, claims ABI research.
Kenil Vora, from ABI, said that Smartphones will continue to represent only a small portion of the mobile phone market. PDA’s will get their boost from innovations such as satellite location, tracking, photography and barcode scanning.
Connected PDAs until now haven’t been that popular due to limitations in technology. However, new devices such as the Treo 600 (apparently due on the Orange network next week!) will help give a much-needed boost to sales of wireless handhelds.
However, Smartphones continue to fight on, as data emerges about increased sales in camera phones – up 166%. More info available here.
