An interesting news story here at Silicon.com, about a company called Simeda.com who offer services which will allow you to lie about where you are.
These services range from playing false background noise (such as a train station, car noise etc when you’re really down the pub) and having the sound of “another” phone ringing to make it seem like you need to go.
This is currently available for Nokia / Symbian handsets, and I’m not clear on how it plays the background noise, but it could be interesting for those of you who’ve been trying to make “the other half” believe you’re “caught up at the office” – when in reality you’re down the pub having a swift half.. 🙂
