April 26, 2004 (Internet) – today SmartFone.net announced that it intends to change its name to SlashPhone . Since its birth in November of 2003, SmartFone.net has experienced incredible growth, and has attracted a sizable following. So why the name change?
During a recent interview with SmartFone.net President, Vincent Nguyen, he gave us some details as to why they plan on changing the name. “While SlashPhon e will continue to be dedicated to bringing its members and visitors the very latest information and reviews on the smartphone market and industry, we feel that the name of SmartFone.net is occasionally being confused with smartphone.net or smartphone.com. Our goal is to provide a quick easy access point for the smartphone marketplace, in which people can get the information they need as well as news, reviews and updates in the smartphone industry. We believe that the name SlashPhone will provide an easily remembered, simple to use point of contact. We will still provide cutting edge, up to the minute information on Smartphones, we’ll just be easier to remember now.”
