The MiTAC Mio 8390 is a lovely phone. Lovely lovely lovely. However, in Europe it’s been a bit tricky to get hold of one because, well – they’re not sold here. However, the official UK launch last night means that this cool handset will hopefully soon be on the streets of Great Britain.
Getting it out there is now up to a company called AGBGlobal who, at present are the only distribution partner in the UK. AGB will be pushing the handset down to independent mobile shops, and hints have been dropped about the big-guns like Phones4U and CarphoneWarehouse. Personally, I’d like to see this handset being picked up and carried by a mobile network.
The handset is a clam-shell, with an integrated camera, external aerial, external blue screen and internal colour screen. There’s no bluetooth, but this is a funky-looking handset that’s worth considering. Although it’s been launched, it may still be a good while before we see this widely available in the UK. 🙁
