AudioVox SMT5600 is on Cingular! No, really! It is!

Yes, we now have confirmation. Cingular announced today that is is to re-introduce the Audiovox SMT5600. This excellent handset – a clone of the Orange SPV C500 – got pulled from shelves of AT&T Wireless following a merger with Cingular.


Cingular say in their press release..


“We are excited to offer the Audiovox SMT 5600 to Cingular Wireless customers who have been waiting for a device that offers the ease and familiarity of Microsoft Windows Mobile software in a convenient and compact fully functional handset,” said David Christopher, vice president of product management, Cingular Wireless.



“The availability of the Audiovox SMT 5600 through Cingular is great news for customers that want a small and powerful handset, allowing them to stay connected when they are on-the-go.”



Apparently it will now sell with Windows Media Player 10. I say “apparently” because as usual, I can’t find anything on ruddy Cingular.com site.... humph!
