Ian Moore has just emailed me in about this i-mate SP3i USB Cradle.
In theory this should work with the T-Mobile SDA and, we think, the Orange SPV C500 too. Here’s a picture of the bottom of the iMate SP3i – the handset this cradle was made for…

Paul Daniels has emailed a message from Expansys themselves who say.. “As far as I am aware this will not work the SP3/C500 and other clones as it has been made specifically for the SP3i.”
Simon Haffenden emailed in to agree. “I’ve tried the cradle you mention above with a C500. The socket is the other way round on the C500 to the iMate, so you’d have to put your C500 in backwards.”
Stephen sent me a link to this SP3 / SPV cradle (looks similar to the one above, but with the USB connector the right way around!).

UPDATE 2! See below for info from “da man” Keni Barwick, who’s given us pictures of the C500, SP3 and the SP3i. These pictures prove that the USB port is the same way around on ALL of them, so you shouldn’t need to put the phone in backwards at all! See “Read More” for pictures…
