Google Maps has been upgraded to version 1.7.1.4. It adds route planning, traffic announcements (although, as you can see, I couldn’t get that bit working) plus you get favourite places and routes and an insta-KB-o-meter for checking data usage.
If your Windows Mobile has built-in GPS or you’ve bought yourself a Bluetooth GPS receiver then this is well worth a try. There’s no TomTom-style voice directions and we’d advise watching that data counter closely but, for nothing, it’s a great way to locate places even without a GPS. Download it by punching www.google.com/gmm into your mobile browser now and have a play – it’s completely free.
