Right. Enough messing around with site code, back to the business in hand. This week it’s CES in Las Vegas (Viva!). The Consumer Entertainment Show should see a few announcements in the wireless arena, and already Pharos have announced this – the Pharos Traveler 137 GPS Smartphone. As usual with the word “Smartphone” it’s actually a pretty generic term for this unlocked Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional device with pay-as-you-go GPS navigation, WiFi and Bluetooth.
Deep-down you’ll find a Qualcomm MSM 7201A CPU running at 528Mhz, tri-band 3G and quad-band GSM / EDGE / GPRS. There’s a 3 megapixel camera, microSD slot with SDHC capability and an audio jack. The screen is a flush 3.5 inch 480×800 pixel WVGA unit, making this a pretty respectable handset indeed.
Prices will be set at around $599.95 (£412.93) and it should be available from the end of this quarter.
Update – Engadget have a great hands-on with this device.
