Following an almost luke-warm reception to the Windows Mobile 6.5 launch, Windows Marketplace also got it’s time. This is the Microsoft answer to the iPhone App Store (come on, let’s be honest) and Andy Lees showed it off. It promises not to limit what a developer can do. They’re not strapped directly into the new MS App Store but it does give developers an option to talk to their customers right on the phone.
It’ll provide direct-to-phone applications which can be accessed from both the phone and the web. Just login with your Windows Live ID, search and install the app you want. It’ll be part of all Windows Mobile 6.5 handsets.
