Got a new HTC Hero unlocked? Want to use it on Vodafone UK? Hold up there cowboy, here’s something you should know.
Widgets on the HTC Hero interface don’t seem to play nice with the Vodafone network. Apparently it’s all down to ports being blocked on Voda that are needed by the Facebook, FlickR and Twitter apps on the phone. The Facebook and FlickR apps seem to have a “work-around” involving a tweak to your APN in Settings->Wireless Controls->Mobile Network Settings->Access Point Names, however the HTC Peep Twitter app still refuses to work properly over the Vodafone GSM network.
