The guys at PocketNow have just put a video online showing the new Samsung Omnia 2 (i8000) and an interesting revelation – it’s got a digital compass. If you watch this vid you can see it in action at around 3.25.
This, as far as we know, will be the first Windows Mobile device to have a compass built-in and, when combined with GPS, means we can finally see Windows Mobile apps finally using the technology. We’ve already seen cool apps such as Google Maps Street View augmented reality apps, so here’s hoping that they’ll be ported to WinMo.
