Microsoft have announced that they will be launching the first 6.5-powered phones on October 6th. Some handsets, such as the Diamond2, will be getting updates while new handsets will be appearing with..
“New customer experiences through an improved, easy-to-use user interface, better browsing capabilities and access to valuable services, including Windows Marketplace for Mobile and Microsoft My Phone.”
HTC, LG, Samsung, Toshiba, Acer and Sony Ericsson are just some of the manufacturers to produce phones powered by Windows Mobile 6.5. Motorola is noticeably absent from the listings. Microsoft is promising a new browser with Flash Lite support and Windows Live, Facebook, Twitter and MySpace integration. Perhaps the biggest change is the addition of Windows Marketplace – the on-device shopping experience where you can search, buy and download apps direct to your phone. Microsoft My Phone will be included too.
