Just yesterday we told you about the new copy protection Microsoft is rolling out in to Marketplace. The existing “protection” was exremely easy to circumvent and therefore didn’t fill developers with confidence. The new system, however, has already been cracked with Chainfire posting details over at xda-devs.
The crack seems to involve running another program in the background to bypass the Microsoft protection. Although Chainfire has no plans to release the hack, it does serve to highlight the fact that developers aren’t allowed to use their own licensing systems within MS Marketplace. No doubt, given time, someone will duplicate this hack and Marketplace apps will be copied all over the place.
