Acer beTouch E110 – The details

Acer beTouch E110 The details I’m now at the airport and, somehow, I’ve managed to get myself into the Business Lounge. There’s free beer here, so if this news item has spelling mistakes, you’ll know why.

This morning I took a look at an entry-level device that Acer are showing off at Mobile World Congress. Powered by Android, it’ll be available in March in blue or black and is another device which is targetting the mass-market. A 2.8″ QVGA screen, 5 way navi-key and that innovative Acer “Splinlets” application are all on board along with all your favourite social networking sites.

Inside there’s no WiFi but you do get quad-band GSM/EDGE and dual-band 3G. The battery is a long-life 1500mAh unit and there’s Bluetooth, GPS, microSD expansion, 3 megapixel camera, 3.5mm audio port and FM receiver. Acer have also added their “urFooz” application which lets you design your own avatar for use on social networking sites. It’s all powered by Android 1.5.

Again, this is a well designed phone and, whilst it’s not aimed at the “power user”, it should be the step on the Smartphone ladder for a lot of customers. Click on for our up-close shots..
