I’m sure we’ve all seen a lava lamp. You can sit and gaze at the lovely floating blobs of wax float around, perhaps trying to forget the fact that your flight to Ibiza is grounded until the weekend. But would that lovely lava lamp still work in the heavier gravity of Jupiter? Well, Neil Fraser wanted to find and so, armed with his Google Nexus One and a big box of maccano, he built a centrifuge his front room!
Yes, it’s insane, but you can watch the results here. The lava lamp and Nexus One spin round at a crazy speed as the Android app “G-Force” monitors the current gravity conditions. Bonkers. 🙂
