Just a couple of weeks ago we told you about the 44,000-odd apps in the Android Market and that, despite the “quality vs quantity” argument, more choice is generally a good thing. Microsoft need to ensure that developers are busy beavering away on Windows Phone 7 apps because now, just a fortnight after we wrote the original story, there’s now over 50,000 apps in the Android catalogues.
Some quick and dirty calculations for you. In our previous story, based on the androlib.com stats, we saw 9,309 new apps in the whole of March. Now, in the space of two weeks, nearly 6,000 have been added. As you can see, the “Android Market Explosion” continues.
