Motorola have added a sliding QWERTY to a couple of Android phones already, and that looks to continue with the Droid 2. The D-pad has gone and the keyboard is much better – we weren’t overly keen on the DEXT / CLIQ one. This keyboard looks a lot like the HTC-style QWERTY.
Inside there’s a nippy 750MHz OMAP CPU, 3.7″ screen, 5 megapixel camera, 8GB internal storage, microSD expansion and currently there’s Android 2.1 on-board. Apparently MotoBLUR will be on-board but there’s no HDMI-out or front-facing camera.
Expect a US-release on this, but let’s hope a rest-of-the-world version appears as the MILESTONE 2.
