Samsung announced some new phones today. They’re not powered by Android or Windows Mobile but we were struck by their design. This, the Samsung Gravity T, is a QWERTY slider with a heavy social slant. It brings your Facebook, Twitter and MySpace account into an easy-to-use handset. It also includes a browser, Exchange email and.. hmm.. it looks a helluva lot like the Microsoft Kin 2 doesn’t it?
Also announced is the Samsung Galaxy “Smiley” … or “Samsung :)” as they call it. As you can probably already tell it’s another QWERTY texter and also packs a whole load of social media integration.. Umm.. that one kinda looks like the Microsof Kin One (see below).
Now, we’re not saying that they did this on purpose or anything, but these particular phones are in a very crowded market segment with some very similar looking devices that do very similar things.
