Windows Phone VP Joe Belfiore has spoken today with engadget and there’s an in-depth video online below. Joshua Topolsky asks Joe about how Windows Phone 7 will differentiate and gets a great insight into the Microsoft mind.
Joe states that the Windows Phone developers run into the “high hundreds” and that there’s been “hundreds of thousands” of development tools downloads. There’s another mention of multi-tasking and the lack of it, with Joe admitting that “We’re like the iPhone was before it supported multitasking”. Third party code will not be allowed to run in the background, although the OS will save “session state”.
