Google Maps 5 arrives

The new Google Maps we spotted last week has now appeared in the Android Market. Google Maps 5.0 brings vector maps, 3D buildings and better performance.


Google are really hammering out the updates, extra features and apps at the moment. This new version of Google Maps also lets you tilt the map with a bit of multi-touch fun and there’s off-line caching so you can still see where you’re going without a data connection. Available for all Android devices above 1.6, the offline and 3D bits are Android 2.0 and above only.
