O2 in the UK have announced they are to double the investment in their 3G network to £2m a day as it starts to plan the rollout of 900mhz 3G services to help deal with the strain on existing 3G networks which use 2100mhz which is why most networks seem to be clamping down on fair use limits for customers at around the 500MB mark.
This will be a big benefit for devices like the iPhone which are 900mhz 3G compatible already once the network sorts out the rollout of this service and flick the switch.
Whilst there are only limited devices which support this service, it is nice to see networks thinking of new ways to help with the strain on network capacity which slow down speeds and the reliability of customers experience.
