You may have heard CES Steve Ballmer mentioning that Windows Phone 7 would be getting the “Copy and Paste” update (and more besides) soon. The operative word there is “soon” because what Steve actually stated was…
“Over the next few months, we will be releasing a series of updates that will automatically be pushed out to our customers, and we’ll boost several improvements. The two most noticeable for Windows Phone users is the addition of copy and paste, and significant performance improvements when loading or switching between applications.”
There’s quite a few Windows Phone 7 owners out there who quite rightly believed that the much-anticipated update would actually roll out in January of this year. Indeed, the URL of the original Microsoft news story is …

..but now this redirects to a page that has no mention of January.
Although Steve Ballmer said “Over the next few months, we will be releasing a series of updates”, I’m beginning to feel that the first update isn’t going to hit until at least March. That’s ..really.. not good.
