OK, so we’ve compared the camera quality between the Sony Ericsson Xperia arc and the HTC Desire S, but what about video ? We went out with both phones and cranked up the resolution to 720p HD. The Sony Ericsson Xperia arc records MP4 videos as default and the HTC Desire S stores 3GP out of the box, however we were happy to find that the Xperia arc is equipped with continual focus. This means that it’ll auto-focus as you film and produces the similar results to the HTC-built Windows Phone 7 devices.
Hmm.,. confusing. How come a brand-new HTC Android device (Desire S) doesn’t do continual focus the HTC Windows Phone 7 devices do ?
Anyhow, here’s a quick comparison video. Firstly, the Sony Ericsson Xperia arc..

..and now the same again, but on a Desire S…

No comment, their both rubbish!

Thanks for sharing this video comparison.. Very useful demo..
I’m kind of disapointed with the video quality of the Desire S compare to the Arc (the image quality is clearer on the Desire S but the the smoothness as well as the sound quality belong to Xperia Arc), however we should not forget the the Arc has 8mp while Desire S hax only 5 mp
I was hoping HTC would upgrade the camera from the Desire. Anyway…
Thanks for the review!
