Android and Me is reporting that Amazon may be working not just on an Android tablet, but on an entire family of devices, perhaps including a smartphone. They claim that their source of information is an “industry insider with direct knowledge of the project”; naturally, he/she remains anonymous. According to the source, Amazon will be launching multiple sizes of tablet, and at least one smartphone. They also stated that Amazon will almost certainly use the latest version of Android, in order for them to fully customise the user interface; there’s also a possibility that the devices will ship late this year (sometime in Q4) with Ice Cream Sandwich.
Amazon’s ‘family’ of Android devices on the way?

Very intriguing. Amazon clearly not happy to let Google and Apple slug it out for phone + web supremacy. Wonder if Amazon would push more the enterprise / business end of things.
