In yet another U turn, HTC today announced that they WILL be bringing Android 2.3 ‘Gingerbread’ to the Desire.
Good news then.
Quite why they decided to announce they wouldn’t and then 24 hours later change their minds I have no idea , it does nothing to help them and at best makes them look rather clueless.
Did the massive amount of angry comments all over the web and social media make them change their minds? Probably!
I can only think it was a commercial decision to try to help sell their latest phones like the Sensation, but they misunderstood the mood of their Desire owners.
Do they say when?
The screengrab is all they put on their facebook page… Sorry.
This then brings issues of trust into the equation; were they then lying when they said the Desire hardware in unable to cope with Gingerbread?
after I went and wrote my opinion piece. well now i have to seriously doubt their integrity. too little, too late.
I STILL don’t have Gingerbread on my Desire HD. 🙁
Not HTC’s fault, but Orange UK. Why the F*@! did I stay with Orange?
How about the HTC Wildfire?
