Not sure how we missed this one before but it now seems that Android Market will check which devices the app you are after is compatible on.
With so many different Android devices on sale now around the world all running different version of the OS and all having different customised software depending on which manufacturer you buy this seems like a great way of helping keep user experience at a high level
So no longer will you download an application to a new handset and find it is not compatible, and because Google have a list of your devices you have used they can point out to you before you download if it will work or not.
This might be a simple idea but it is VERY handy for a lot of people and those of us who use multiple devices and are always changing, especially considering there are still people out there running 1.6 software.

Don’t worry if you don’t have this, I don’t either. It appears to be a gradual introduction, like the new style market
Scrub that, it’s appeared now.
If you’ve rooted and upgraded to a newer Android version will you now not be able to install apps which you are compatible with but it assumes you’re not? Quite annoying.
I wondered why it said I couldn’t run an app on my 2.3 o2x .. Cheers.
