We, like a few other sites today, are hearing that T-Mobile are getting ready to unveil some pretty big changes to their data plans. The plans, which are apparently due to start on July 1st, will give “true unlimited internet” to customers taking out a 24 month contract conting £25 per month or more. By the looks of it this is in response to “The One Plan” from Three. This is the plan that we tested to destruction some months ago with and amazing 45GB used in two weeks.
It’s not been long since T-Mobile reduced their allowance down to 500MB. The move sparked a large amount of negative feedback, so this would be a pretty significant change and may be a way for T-Mobile to win customers back.

T-Mobile launches new summer promotion – truly unlimited internet for UK consumers
London, 29 June 2011: T-Mobile today announced it is offering truly unlimited mobile internet access to customers who sign up to a 24 month price plan of £25.54 or more a month between 1 July and the 30 September. Available through T-Mobile retail stores, via the T-Mobile web site and from T-Mobile telesales, the new truly unlimited internet summer promotion will also be available to existing customers who are eligible to upgrade onto those plans, or can be added as a data bundle for just £5.10 per month for those already on equivalent price plans.
The new truly unlimited internet promotion has been designed to allow customers to browse, stream, email1 and download their favourite content to their heart’s content, without the need to monitor their usage. The summer months will give customers who sign up to the deal plenty of great opportunities to start taking full advantage of the offer – from checking up on all the festival line ups, to streaming music via Spotify whilst in the park with friends, or even downloading favourite TV episodes to watch on long summer holiday journeys.
Available to all customers taking a minimum of a £25.54 per month plan, for 24 months, unlimited internet will allow them to make the most out of the smartphone they choose, whether that’s YouTube on an HTC Desire S (£25.54/m, 24 month plan), facebook on a Samsung Galaxy S II (£35.75/m, 24 month plan) or downloading Angry Birds onto an iPhone 4 (£40.85/m, 24 month plan).
Furthermore, it’s not just new customers who can get this great value offer – customers already on those price plans that have internet on the phone included can simply take out a £5.10 booster to get truly unlimited internet. Alternatively, those customers eligible to upgrade onto these plans can do so.
Tim Dowling, Vice President of Propositions, T-Mobile UK, says: “We know that more and more of our customers are using the internet on their phone to make the most out of their smartphone, so that’s why we’ve chosen to give them the opportunity to receive truly unlimited internet for the duration of their plan. So this summer, T-Mobile customers can now have the freedom to surf and email on the go without the need to monitor their usage”.

They an do one as far as I am concerned. I am still smarting from the 500Mb fiasco they try to pull. T-Mobile contracts always look cheap and good value until you start using them. They end up nailing ypou on anything you can. My current £35/month deal is frequently over £70 due to them clawing back for voicemail and piling it on for everyday 0845 numbers etc.
