Vodafone increase Pay As You Go prices

In a couple of weeks Vodafone will be changing the prices for their Pay As You Go plans.

The costs for those on the “Simply” price plan will be increasing, with calls to UK landlines, mobiles and your voicemail costing 25p per minute instead of 21p. Texts will go up from 10p to 12p. A full run-down of the new charges can be found below..

Our Pay as you go prices are changing

From 14 July 2011, some of our Pay as you go prices are changing.

If you’re on our Simply price plan, the charge for calls, texts and voicemail within the UK will be increasing. You’ll pay 25p a minute for calls to UK mobiles and standard landlines (starting 01, 02, 03) instead of 21p. Calls to your voicemail within the UK will also increase to 25p from 21p and standard UK texts will cost 12p each instead of 10p.

Here’s a list of Simply price plan charges within the UK from 14 July:

Changes to all other price plans

From 14 July 2011, if you’re on one of our other price plans, including Smart Step, Smart Plus, Anytime or Anynet, All Calls and Original, the minimum standard UK call charges for these plans are changing from 15p to 25p.

Daily mobile internet (data) costs

From 14 July 2011, our daily mobile internet costs across all Pay as you go price plans will be £1 per 25MB per day (up to a maximum of £5 a day)

The cost of roaming (using your mobile abroad) is coming down

From 1 July 2011, we’re lowering the cost of making and receiving calls when you’re abroad. In Europe, you’ll pay just 36p a minute instead of 39p to make a call, and 11p a minute instead of 15p to receive a call. Text costs will remain at 11p a text.

All texts are standard UK texts. Only TopUps made between Monday to Friday qualify for the Vodafone £5 Weekend Freebee. TopUps made on Saturdays and Sundays do not qualify.
