Back in March Android leapt to the top of of the comScore chart but we also spotted the start of a very worrying Microsoft slope. The Micorosft share according to the March numbers showed a drop in share from 9.7% (October 2010) to 8% (January 2011). Back then the new Windows Phone 7 OS was only months old, so there was still time for things to change. Unfortunately.. things haven’t.
New stats show that the the slide continued into February with Microsoft holding 7.7% share and then down to 5.8% in May.
Microsoft still has a strong position though. Nokia and the new Windows Phone 7.5 “Mango” update should help these figures in future months.
Google rose 5.1% to hold a 38.1% share and Apple nudged up another 1.4%. RIM dropped 4.2%.
