Viber, the free VOIP and messaging service has finally hit the Android market. The app has been available on iOS for a while now and allows you to make free calls over 3G and WiFi as well as send free texts.
The app features some nice integration with Android, allowing you to make calls directly from your address book and even set Viber as the default dialler. It also features pop up SMS notifications with instant reply, something Handcent users are likely familiar with.
You can grab it now from the market.

I have Skype.. Not sure what/if there is an advantage with using Viber for VoIP?
I like how it doesn’t use usernames. It just looks up your address books and allows you to call contacts for free. Very easy to use.
Yep – 1st time I opened the app and looked up my contacts it showed people who were already using viber. Much better than *any* other voip app I’ve tried!
