So, I have an Asus Eee PC off eBay. It’s got a fairly small 4GB SSD drive inside and comes with some random Linux variant. Running Android on it is just a matter of downloading the appropriate ISO thanks to the hard work of Android-x86.org. There’s other custom-built ISO files on the site for other Netbooks out there too.
Here’s the £70 netbook doing some browsing..

It’s not all perfect though. Android Market isn’t included and a few of the apps we tried chucked random errors and fell apart, but it’s interesting the see what’s possible 🙂 This particular Netbook comes complete with a whacking 512MB of memory and has a 900MHz CPU, so it’s probably less powerful than the Android phone you own. 🙂 Oh, and don’t forget that 4GB SSD drive – that’s probably smaller than most of your microSD cards.

JoliCloud and an EeePC make a great pairing.
