The web has come alive with news of the new Google+ changes. Google+ is now open for all, so the floodgates are well and truely open. At the same time Google has rolled out a massive update to the Android Google+ application with stacks of extra features.
Android 2.3+ devices will get “Hangouts” – a video conferencing / calling feature which works best with front-facing cameras. It’s the Google answer to the Apple Facetime and you can add up to nine other people to your video conference, plus you broadcast and record your session too.
Screensharing is also included and you can doodle on-screen with the Sketchpad, plus you can share with Google Docs too.
Google have added a stack of items that users have asked for, including improved SMS support, improved +mentions support, +1’ing of comments, the ability to edit your profile photo and customizing your notifications.
