As previously reported, many users of the iPhone 4S have been reporting poor battery life. Now Oliver Haslam at iDownloadBlog has come up with a fix.
It seems the problem lies with the “Setting Time Zone” option causing the location services to run constantly, sucking the battery dry very quickly. Since turning this option off, Oliver has seen his battery life almost double.

The fix has had successful results on the iPhone 4 and 3GS as well, suggesting it’s to do with iOS5 rather than the handset itself.
Have you tried this fix? Has it helped your battery life? Let us know in the comments.
Tried that a while ago and it certainly helped the standby time. It does not however stop the 4s losing nearly 1% of it’s battery life for ever 2mins of Facetime done over WiFi
I turned this off on Saturday and now my wife get’s a couple of days use before charging…. so much better!
Excellent, ta very much!
Based from comments posted before mine here, I can see that the solution proposed here is somewhat working. Hmm…
