After initially appearing on the App Store and quickly being pulled because of bugs, the long awaited Gmail app for iOS has now reappeared. This time in a somewhat more stable form.
Those of you familiar with the (pretty fantastic) Gmail mobile web apps will feel right at home as the app doesn’t really appear to be much more than a wrapper for those versions, with the added benefits of notifications and offline caching. However one unique feature of noteĀ is the ability to swipe your Inbox to the right to view a list of your labels, something I can see myself using frequently for fast navigation. Fingers crossed they bring it to the Android app asap.
Google have also stated in a post on the official Gmail blog that they are working on iterating the app quickly. Promised upcoming features include support for multiple accounts and improved notifications.
The app is available for all devices running iOS 4+. Let us know what you think of it in the comments.
