Google have just given their iPad search app a fairly substantial overhaul. The updated app features a much slicker UI with an integrated browser that slides across to display websites when you click on search results. It’s a feature quite reminiscent of Twitter for iPad.
The app also makes use of swipe gestures to provide quick access to your search history along with an instant preview carousel view which is a nice way to visually scan through results. Image search results are also displayed in a similar carousel fashion.
Finally, the app provides instant access to most of Google’s mobile services including Gmail, Calendar, docs, G+ and more.
Overall it’s a pretty great effort and I’m left wondering why they haven’t released something similar for Android.

I was wondering the same but then Android has Google search baked in. It’s not as good as this though.
think Google has always wanted to copy Apple’s style of commercials…
Now that they’re showing off one of their own iOS products, they finally can!
Thanks so much for your continuing efforts on this.
