The BBC have just updated their iOS iPlayer app to support streaming over 3G. An update to the Android version will soon arrive which will also add this capability, meaning that you can finally watch and listen to BBC content on the move.
The BBC have been quick to point out that a large or unrestricted mobile data plan is recommended. Many networks have come forward to state that their networks are more than able to cope with the possible extra strain on their networks.

“Many networks have come forward to state that their networks are more than able to cope with the possible extra strain on their networks” Whilst that may be true, the still ridiculously low usage caps still prevent this from used by many people.
Very true mate. I think those networks WANT you to use lots of data… Ker-ching!

The One Plan is perfect for this!
I would have gone with Three at upgrade, had the coverage been good enough. 3G is really patchy in my home town, on any network. Without 2G backup that makes it a deal breaker. Three’s coverage map shows my postcode as “outside coverage only”. 🙁
Forget the streaming, just let us down load on wifi and watch at our leisure.
