HTC have announced the Titan 2 over in CES running on AT&T’s LTE network. Specs of the new HTC Titan II include a 4.7″ WVGA super LCD capacitive screen, a Qualcomm 1.5GHz Snapdragon S2 CPU, a 16 megapixel camera (yes, 16 megapixel!) with dedicated hardware button, autofocus, dual LED flash and a second 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera.
Ah… now, wait. Didn’t the HTC Titan 1 just get announced four months ago? Yes indeed it did, but this new HTC Titan 2 looks to be US-only… for now.. We’re wouldn’t be too surprised if a European version appeared at Mobile World Congress next month. 🙂
Inside, thanks to Windows Phone, you’ll have the Xbox LIVE gaming and HTC are adding their HTC Watch feature for grabbing movies and TV shows on the move. Plus, let’s not forget, US users on AT&T will receive 4G LTE speeds. W
Running on Windows Phone 7.5 this has a 1730mAh battery, WiFi, 3.5mm audio jack, digital compass, gyro sensor, G-sensor, proximity sensor and light sensor. We’ve got the full specs here or you can click on for the press release. Strangely we’re unable to find the screen resolution. We assume it’s the same 480 x 800 resolution as the original Titan.

“HTC’s history of innovation in 4G technology includes delivering the first 4G-powered devices to each major carrier in the U.S., so it is exciting today to continue that leadership with our first 4G LTE Windows Phone, the HTC TITAN II,” said Peter Chou, CEO of HTC Corp. “This full-featured smartphone combines HTC’s design with AT&T’s high-speed 4G LTE network and Microsoft’s powerful Windows Phone software, giving people more of what they crave.”

The smartphone also enables 720p HD video recording with the rear-facing camera, as well as on-the-go video chat over Wi-Fi with its 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera.

At the moment we have no information on a UK release as this is a AT&T event but expect a HSPA+ version over here in the UK (pretty please HTC!)
They’d better improve the screen resolution…
1) As Murrzeak said, Windows phone needs an increased screen resolution, particularly on these larger phones, it’s just essential.
2) 16mp and still only 720p video is just silly. Stupid Windows Phone and it’s single cores.
MS really need to start supporting these things otherwise gadget heads will just go elsewhere! (Galaxy S3!)
This is not what i was looking for if apple had come out with this junk people be all over this site slating it….
I find myself having to wait until the iPhone 5 to decide weather i should stick with android or make the move to Apple…..!!!!
Samsung can you help meeeeeeeeeee
Having used this phone now for two months I can assure you that the screen resolution and single core chip are no Problem at all. The phone is fast with no lagging what so ever….The screen is extremelly vibrant and compairs very well alongside Nokias amoled Lumia screen.
Numbers arent everything guy`s……HTC have produced a very well balenced handset that works well within its spec…so far i am not at all dissapointed.
