Sony Ericsson, or should that just be “Sony”, appear to have just sprung a leak. There’s at least a dozen new Android phones due to arrive in the next few months, and you’ll no doubt see a lot of these code-names turn into nice new phones at Mobile World Congress.
The Xperia S and Ion have already appeared and the Xperia S will be arriving here in the UK on various networks next month. However, April should see three new Android phones – and these are devices we’ll definitely see in Barcelona. They’re known as the Kumquat, Nyphon and Pepper and there’s rumours that the Nyphon will have a 4″ screen whilst the Pepper (MT27i) will have a 3.7″ Reality display. Other than the strange names (Kumquat) we don’t know much else.
Later on we’ll see the Olive I, Hayabusa, Tapioca, Tapioca DS, Lotus, Atlas I, AFFM and Mint I. That “Tapioca” and “Tapioca DS” sounds interesting. Dual screens perhaps ? We hope so. Either that ot they’ll be successors to the X10 Mini and X10 Mini Pro.
