This is the sort of thing that Windows Phone has been lacking for a while now. Not exactly the Domino’s Pizza app, but high street brands paying developers to make an app for Windows Phone.
Whoa this was meant to be about the Domino’s app.
Back on track now. Yesterday Domino’s released their app onto the Windows Phone Marketplace. It allows you to order pizza, pay for pizza and have that pizza delivered. You have to eat the pizza yourself though. Below are a few off the shots of the app.
What is exciting is the move of main street brands to start making apps like this. No doubt Nokia’s involvement in Windows Phone has spurred them on. When you look at Android and iOS you have things like Argos, Amazon, Waterstones, Ikea, various Newspapers, Sky & BBC they all have apps for both platforms. But nothing for Windows Phone.
Hopefully the release of the pizza ordering app will mark the start of something big.
Here’s the link to the Windows Phone Marketplace for the Domino’s app.
I could have sworn I had Waterstones and Sky apps on my Windows Phone
