Apple Event – Highlights so far…. Updated LIVE

Four things you need to know right now –

1.) Apple TV 3 – now supports 1080p playback

2.) iOS 5.1 available today

3.) iTunes now syncs Movies to iCloud

4.) New iPad with Retina Display – 2048 x 1536 resolution (that’s 1 million more pixels than HD displays!)

The iPad also has the A5X processor with a Quad Core GPU (to be confirmed)…. meaning that’s twice as fast as the Tegra 3

This device will have a 5 MegaPixel camera on the back, with InfraRed Filter and a 5-element lens) same as the iPhone 4 – They have also called it an iSight Camera …. weird or not… discuss…. ?! … and yes, for us layfolk, this means HD recording 😉

4th feature is built in Voice, and a new voice button on the virtual keyboard….

5th feature – this iPad wil have 4G LTE next generation wireless….

Another cool feature announced is the iPad will support Personal Hotspots… (assuming your carrier supports it ….)

The battery life is expected to last 10 hours, and is 9.4mm thin, weighing 1.4lbs

A mere $499 for 16GB version, 32GB is $599 and 64GB for $699 for the WiFi only versions, if you want 4G it’s $629, $729 and $829 respectively….

If you want one of the bad boys they will be available for pre-order later today in US, Canada, UK, France, Germany, Switzerland, Japan. This is their most agressive rollout to date!!
