Browsing around the Android Market Google Play last night, I couldn’t help but notice this Solar Charger app. It’s had hundreds of thousands of downloads and converts your screen into a solar panel. Magic eh? Well yes. It’s actually more of a trick really. The app doesn’t actually charge your battery at all, but uses the light sensor to alter a fake battery meter.
Unfortunately many, many, many, MANY people have believed that an app has magically transformed their screen into a solar panel and have left comments like this..
There’s many more comments, many congratulating this new “green” innovation and the developers. However, if you dive down into the description (past the huge slice of “common sense” and “thinking about it for a minute before you download the thing”) you’ll see the real reason for this app ..
Currently this app has 4 stars and the large majority of comments seem to call the app “amazing” and “the best app ever”. Sure, there are a few “mentally challenged trolls” who have complained about the app “not working”, but it’s perhaps more worrying to see the amount of people who claim that this app has charged their battery successfully too.

Oh come on Leigh! You surely noticed that the ‘AMAZING’ etc. comments were left on the 15th March – funny that; on the first date of the ‘app’ being uploaded! Even I’m not naive enough to think ‘oh, what a coincidence’! LOL 😉
I was an idiot and was trolled but now i uninstalled it, and my phone still doesnt tell me how much battery i’ve got left, it is becoming a huge problem for me and my phone please can you help me
