In the world of Windows Phone there are quite a few Twitter apps. Most of them are ill thought out, barely functional, awkward, slow, laggy and unpleasant apps. My first big challenge when I started off down the Windows Phone path was to find something that did not tick any of these boxes. I came across Rowi a while back and we covered it as one of our recommended apps.
At that point it was a great app that just needed a few improvements. In response to our review the developers did mention that they had a huge update coming soon. Well last week that update was released to the Marketplace and they are having a sale as well which last until the 18th of April.
So what makes this app special. Well the developers have thought of everything and made the whole experience work well, much like Windows Phone in general. The main things I like about the new update are the smoothness, the push notifications for mentions or direct messages, the fact you can add custom search columns, you can pin various elements to your home screen such as new tweets and you can even add articles or tweets to Read it Later. They really have done a good job.
The pro version of the app allows you to use the push notifications and also does away with the adverts. At the moment it is a bargain at 79p which is less than the other premium Windows Phone Twitter apps.
