HTC Have confirmed that certain models of it handsets that have been held by US customs awaiting clearance have been released after last week warning of a delay in shipping.
The HTC One X and HTC EVO 4G LTE have both been subject to delays due to customs inspections which have now been passed even though HTC would not confirm which models have been released.
HTC have been working in the shadow of an ITC (International Trade Commission) exclusion order which states that all HTC smartphones must be inspected prior to import due to their infringment of Apple patents since December. HTC cannot import devices using the patented technology to the U.S. after April 19.
HTC claim that they are able to avoid the ban as they have created new solutions to avoid the patented technology.
Hmmm, interesting news
it be good to compare how much each phone manufafture has to pay other compainres on each phone they sell due to patents……
think you will be suppriesed how much HTC have to pay out on each handset …
dont microsoft make around $5 per handset sold?
Its small fortunes, i think they make more from android than they do Windows phone!
