On the day Samsung stores around the UK will start selling the Galaxy S3 tonight and the rest of the country gets their chance to own one tomorrow, Samsung have now come out and admitted that the Blue version of the S3 has indeed been delayed for 2-4 weeks due to quality issues.
Samsung have said
“Samsung’s Galaxy SIII Pebble Blue version comes with a newly invented blue colour and special hyper-glaze material.
In order to meet the highest internal quality standards and to provide the best quality Galaxy SIII to customers, a short supply of Pebble Blue version is expected in some regions in the next 2-3 weeks.
Samsung is working hard to ensure that customers will get the Pebble Blue coloured devices as soon as possible.”
Apple fans will find this reminds them of the iPhone 4 situation where the company had issues producing the white model and that took about a year before it finally went on sale, although this is only 2-4 weeks delay it is just another chapter in the story comparing the S3 to the iPhone
How can you compare this issue with the iphone, like you said the iphone took 1yr to resolve because the white wasn’t white or something like that. Samsung say 2-4 weeks, it is hardly a comparison….
ha carnt wait for the so called 9 million people buying this phone to take them back with faults… if they are only delaying it for weeks then the fix carnt be that good…
Hmm. I think people should read the Samsung press release; ‘a short supply of Pebble Blue version is expected in some regions in the next 2-3 weeks’ means ‘some retailers – but not all – will only have a few units at launch’ NOT ‘noone will get a blue one for another 2-4 weeks’.
