The Flyer was their first, but didn’t catch on perhaps as well as we all thought it would. Now, a second HTC tablet will be known as the HTC Vertex. Rumours suggest Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and a 1.3GHz nVidia Tegra 3 CPU. A 1280×752 pixel screen is mentioned, but we don’t know how big it’ll be just yet.

I don’t see a place in the market for a tablet with those specs, particularly the screen resolution, now that the Nexus 7 is occupying the lower end of the market. The screen resolution makes no sense at 10″ given most 10″ tablets are using 1280×800, so my guess would be that this is a “Galaxy Note” type device.
The top end of the Tablet market is sown up by the iPad and Transformers, and the budget end will be sown up by the Nexus 7 and the raft of Far Eastern cheapos. The only market that has any (small) gaps is the £250 – £350 price bracket, and this doesn’t seem to have the specs to command that sort of price.
