HTC rumours and leaks are rife at the moment, but as we swiftly approach their New York press event we are seeing now some tasty teasers.
We’ve previously reported on a potential 5-inch HTC phablet going by the name of the HTC DIx. This less than appealing name has been debunked by a leaked press render which shows the moniker HTC One X5. Apart from sounding like a four wheel drive BMW, this fits in nicely with the company naming structure and places it in the top echelon of their popular One range.
The render also confirms that the colour scheme is the same as in the grainy photos that did the rounds over the weekend. The black with red highlights is reminiscent of the HTC Sensation XE, which I always thought was the most stylish of last years offerings from the Taiwanese company.
****UPDATE****
OK, since publishing this story, it’s been revealed that the press render is nothing more than a concept knocked up by the user Dannix on Flickr and subsequently posted on Concept Phones blog. Thanks to Jamie Hoyle for pointing out my error.
I apologise for any confusion caused. However, the final two paragraphs still stand…
If the specs of a 1920 x 1080p, 480ppi 5-inch display, 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB ROM, and S4 Pro quad-core processor, along with Jelly Bean and Sense 4.5 are correct, then I will definitely be having my thumbs extended in order to use this gothic monster.
Let’s hope reasonable prices and a UK release date are also revealed on Wednesday.
“My thumbs extended”
That was funny.
A 1080 screen in a 5″ tablet, videos on that should look amazing. Gonna be expensive though, lets hope it has the quality to match the ppi.
