Google Developers updated their binaries for the Nexus line last night with noteworthy changes mentioned by JBQ to be: “for grouper (i.e. Nexus 7), the new binaries support GPS, and include a high-precision touchscreen firmware.”
What does this mean for you? If you are on anything other than a Nexus device then this isn’t really going be be of much use to you at all. If you’re running a custom rom however on a nexus device it means that you will more than likely see these updated binaries in an upcoming update to your current rom, I’m using CyanogenMod 10 on both my galaxy Nexus and Nexus 7 which have both received the updated binaries in the latest nightly.
It’s too soon for me to comment on the improvements as I’ve literally just flashed them this afternoon. From posts on XDA it does say that Bluetooth and WiFi are marginally improved, but theres always the placebo effect on these things so only time will tell is all I will comment.
