Yes I just said Xbox. Xbox has become more than just a brand of a console. It is know the unifying multimedia centre that holds together the Xbox console, Windows Phone 8, Windows 8 and Windows RT. It offers a wide range of films, tv, music and of course games.
In the past controlling one element from another was always a clunky affair, but with the latest update to the Xbox Dashboard Smartglass is going to be built in and you will soon be able to download Smartglass for your Windows 8 PC, your Windows RT tablet and your Windows Phone 8 device.
Smartglass is basically an updated version of the Xbox Companion app and it will allow you to play content on your tv and let you control that content from the comfort of your sofa. As usual it seems that in the UK we are going to be getting a trimmed down version of the whole experience as the US has a load of media content providers signed up to work with the new update. The UK at launch seems to be stuck with the existing BBC and YouTube offering.
The Windows 8, Windows Phone and Windows RT certainly seems like an exciting one at the moment and personally I’m glad I’ve got a surface tablet coming soon. In the meantime check out this video demo of Smartglass:
Like the S3 he has at the beginning!
try Samsung Ativ S
it does look like an s3, but the “home” button looks like the win 8 phone.
